Courtney Stuart and Fanfarron 8 – 2016 Irish National Dressage Champions

We are delighted to announce the fantastic news that Courtney and Fanfarron 8, known to his friends as Flynn were awarded the Irish National Dressage Championship at the conclusion of the Winter Finals held at Cavan Equestrian Centre in April this year.

They have been working together under the expert guidance of Anne Marie Dunphy for the past 3 years and the partnership is finally coming together!

This month ( June ) the pair traveled with some great company to England to compete first at Bury Farm Equestrian Village north of London. To their amazement and obvious delight they won both their PSG and Inter I classes, and to top it off, the other Irish riders who had travelled with Courtney also won their classes!!

They packed the lorry up on the Monday and drove down to Hickestead where the Dressage Masters was taking place. Just to be rubbing shoulders and sharing a warm up arena with the Greats of the Dressage world was thrilling enough for Irelands young hopefuls, but they surpassed all their expectations by finishing up bring home 7th, 9th and 11th place rosettes – no mean feat in such experienced and talented company.

The other Irish riders also enjoyed an exceptionally successful weekend despite the typical ‘Glastonbury festival’ weather.

Keep in touch with Courtney and Flynn’s progress on Courtney’s fb page – they’re off on Monday to Hartpury Dressage Festival in Gloucestershire. With lots of luck and preparation they might make the cut and get into the Freestyle to Music on the final day of the Event.
